The Value of Load Bank Testing: for sales, leadership, and end users

Course Schedule: This class is 8 hours long over 1 full day and is taught in English.

Course Description:  This course is specifically designed to help staff in sales, leadership and operational positions understand generator load bank testing.  Many customers are required to perform annual load bank testing in life safety environments; however, load bank testing holds huge value overall as a testing apparatus.  If you’ve ever turned down a load bank because an engine was natural gas and not diesel powered, then this class is absolutely for you!

General Course Overview:  This class will begin with an introduction to what load bank testing is and how, when performed both properly and improperly, can effect a building.  We’ll transition to the compliance side of things, whether someone would fall under NFPA 70e life safety requirements and contingency plans that should be in place should something fail.  We’ll move to the lab and demonstrate what should be expected when a load bank test is being performed, things to look out for from the planning, testing and completion stage.  Finally, we’ll wrap up class discussing how load banking should be employed for regular testing.  Class will be wrapped up with an open floor discussion and recap.

Jamie Claudeo

Course Instructor & Director of Education, On Site Power Academy

Jamie Claudeo Jr. started turning wrenches under his fathers watchful eye when he was just 10 years old climbing in and out of large commercial boilers.  By end of high school he was attending vocational school for electrical trades and before graduating succeeded in taking first place at the state level SkillsUSA competition.  Having a love for engines and machinery, he eventually moved into working on large trucks for Peterbilt after attending Universal Technical Institute in Pennsylvania and Arizona.  After Hurricane Sandy decimated the northeast in 2012 he eventually made his way into Power generation, working for a small company out of NJ.  His strong understanding of both electrical and engines allowed him to move up quickly – taking on large projects, and hard to troubleshoot problems across several states until eventually choosing to start his own business in 2022.

During his free time, Jamie enjoys traveling the world, dark beer, hiking, rock climbing, running and tinkering with old machinery.  On more quiet relaxed evenings you can find him curled up on a giant bean bag chair enjoying a good video game.
